Are you sometimes amazed at what comes out of your child's mouth? Or wonder why they are questioning something of a "curious" nature? Do you find yourself snickering or outright laughing at the way they say it (and with a such a straight face)?
A good friend of mine Martha McNarley has been putting together a book with these exact such things! If you want to share your Kid's Say The Darndest Things moment, come comment on this blog post! She will be taking excerpts for her book :)

when our kids were young, we began every meal with a grace that ended with "and Lord, please bless the hands that have prepared this meal" we had little money, lots of leftovers and a newly blended family so it was very appropriate when our youngest son wanted to say grace for the first time. He ended his blessing with "and Lord, please bless the hands that have repaired this meal!"
ReplyDeleteWhen my daughter wasn't much of a talker for the first year and a half. In fact, she didn't even make a whole lot of sounds. Her vocabulary consisted of a few words - mama, daddy, Jack (the dog). One day while shopping at Target, she got it in her mind to say "daddy" to every man we walked by. She didn't know the word "man" so every one was "daddy." Imagine having to reply, "No...that's not your daddy."
